Public Policy Economist (AI Training)

About the Role

We're looking for economists with public policy experience to help shape how AI understands and reasons about real-world economic and policy challenges. Your expertise will directly influence the quality of AI-generated analysis - making it more rigorous, accurate, and grounded in how policy actually works.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where your knowledge creates lasting impact on cutting-edge AI systems.

What You'll Do

• Review and evaluate AI-generated public policy analysis and applied economics content for accuracy and rigor
• Assess economic reasoning across areas such as regulation, welfare policy, taxation, and public programs
• Provide structured, detailed feedback to improve the clarity, depth, and real-world relevance of AI outputs
• Validate economic scenarios, models, and policy conclusions using your applied expertise
• Work independently and asynchronously - on a schedule that works for you

Who You Are

• 3+ years of experience working or teaching in public economics, applied economics, or economic policy
• Strong command of policy analysis frameworks and economic tradeoff reasoning
• Able to critically assess written economic arguments and recommendations
• Comfortable providing clear, detailed written feedback at scale
• Self-motivated and reliable working independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have

• Graduate degree in Economics, Public Policy, or a related field
• Professional experience in government agencies, think tanks, or policy research organizations
• Familiarity with AI systems or content evaluation workflows
