About the Role
The Company is in search of a VP, Management Company Accountant to lead the accounting and reporting function for its management company entities. This pivotal role involves overseeing the monthly and quarterly close processes, maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities, and ensuring compliance with GAAP in all financial reporting. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing expense allocation methodologies, intercompany transactions, and fee calculations, as well as preparing consolidated financial statements and internal reporting packages for senior leadership. Additionally, the role includes supporting various financial initiatives such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, and serving as a key point of contact for audits. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a CPA preferred, and at least 8 years of relevant accounting experience, particularly in management company, partnership, or financial services accounting within alternatives. A strong knowledge of US GAAP, consolidations, expense allocations, and partnership accounting is essential, as is experience in complex, multi-entity structures. The ideal candidate will have a background in public accounting, advanced Excel skills, and experience with accounting and reporting systems. The role requires a highly organized individual with a strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills to effectively partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
