Hudson, NY (or Atlanta, GA)
6 month contract (to possible hire)
Following are the key responsibilities of the Release Manager
- Develop release guidelines that can be implemented across the organization
- Planning release windows and the overall release lifecycle by working with Project Managers, Infrastructure teams, Development/QA teams (Both Vendor and Internal)
- Manage risks that may affect release scope
- Responsible for creating and managing release plans and release notes documentations
- Work with PM in aligning release plans and release documentation
- Communicate all key release plans to necessary stakeholders and secure appropriate deployment resources for the releases
- Oversee various aspects of the project before it is due to be deployed and ensure all teams are on track and meeting the agreed guidelines
- Measure and monitor progress of releases and send frequent communication on the release status
- Manage relationships and coordinate projects between different teams
- Responsible for putting together a CI/CD strategy by working with various team that can be implemented
- Evaluate opportunities for improvement during the deployments and work with various team to optimize those opportunities
The candidate must have a
- Strong background in IT with an excellent understanding on various technologies and programming languages
- Hands-On experience with scripting & coding
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in release management activities with a large organization with parallel projects
- Proven background with CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and ensure tasks are completed on time within the release schedule
- Strong background working in an Agile environment
