Professional Case Management is seeking a Principal Investigator to lead scientific research and development efforts that advance in-home healthcare for individuals with complex medical needs, including former energy workers and their families. In this role, you will provide strategic and scientific leadership for clinical and outcomes research programs that evaluate and improve specialized home-based care models. You will design and oversee research protocols, ensure rigorous methodology, and translate findings into practical improvements in patient care, safety, and quality of life. The Principal Investigator will be responsible for developing and managing clinical studies from concept through publication, including protocol design, feasibility assessment, site and participant selection strategies, data collection plans, and analysis frameworks. You will ensure all research activities comply with applicable regulations, ethical standards, and Good Clinical Practice, coordinating Institutional Review Board submissions, informed consent processes, and continuous safety monitoring for participants receiving care in their homes. Working closely with clinical operations, nursing, case management, and quality teams, you will collaborate to integrate research initiatives into real-world care delivery, ensuring that study designs are feasible, patient-centered, and aligned with the unique needs of medically complex populations. You will mentor and guide cross-functional staff involved in data collection, documentation, and protocol adherence, cultivating a culture of scientific rigor, compassion, and accountability. The role will involve oversight of data quality and integrity, collaboration with biostatistical resources, and interpretation of results to generate meaningful insights. You will draft and review study reports, abstracts, manuscripts, and other scientific communications, representing Professional Case Management in professional forums, conferences, and stakeholder meetings as appropriate. You will also contribute to grant applications, proposals, and internal business cases that support innovation in home-based healthcare models and long-term care for former energy workers. As Principal Investigator, you will manage research timelines, milestones, and budgets, proactively addressing operational challenges and risks. You will partner with compliance, legal, and leadership teams to ensure all research aligns with organizational policies, payer requirements, and federal and state regulations related to healthcare delivery, privacy, and human subject protection. You will help define research priorities that support the organization’s mission and growth, leveraging data to demonstrate outcomes, value, and best practices in complex in-home care. This position operates within a culture that emphasizes collaboration, compassion, and excellence. You will work in a supportive, dynamic environment that encourages learning and innovation, with opportunities to shape the direction of research and influence care standards at scale. The Principal Investigator will contribute to internal education by sharing findings, guiding evidence-based practice initiatives, and supporting comprehensive training programs that elevate the skills of clinical and support teams. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in clinical or health services research, preferably in home health, chronic disease, occupational health, rehabilitation, palliative care, or similarly complex patient populations. You should be comfortable working across disciplines, communicating effectively with clinicians, executives, regulators, and patients, and balancing scientific rigor with the realities of in-home care delivery. A record of leadership in research, strong analytical skills, and a passion for improving patients’ lives in their own homes are essential. Professional Case Management offers comprehensive training, opportunities for career advancement, and a robust benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement savings options. This Principal Investigator role is designed for a research leader who wants to make a tangible, meaningful impact on vulnerable populations while developing innovative models of care in a mission-driven organization.
