Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Piping Designer to support a refinery facility by working through a backlog of small capital and maintenance projects. This is a fast-paced environment where the designer will be expected to work independently and quickly integrate into the team. The ideal candidate will be highly experienced in refinery piping design and capable of taking ownership of projects with minimal supervision.

The designer will initially receive project guidance but is expected to be fully self-sufficient within the first week and capable of progressing projects without extensive oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and modify piping designs for refinery capital and maintenance projects.
• Support approximately 15 small projects focused on backlog and facility improvements.
• Produce piping layouts, isometrics, and detailed drawings using CADWorx.
• Perform field walkdowns to verify existing conditions and incorporate findings into design work.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and other disciplines to ensure designs meet project requirements and refinery standards.
• Update existing drawings and documentation to reflect modifications and as-built conditions.
• Maintain design accuracy while working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment .

Required Qualifications:

• Senior-level piping design experience in a refinery or petrochemical facility.
• Proven experience using CADWorx within the past 3–4 years (required).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple small projects simultaneously .
• Strong understanding of refinery piping systems, layouts, and industry standards.
• Experience performing field verification and incorporating field conditions into designs.
• Must be comfortable receiving a project scope and progressing work with minimal supervision .

Additional Requirements:

• Valid TWIC card required.
• Ability to work onsite at a refinery location.
