Department Overview We believe our well coordinated clinical care contributes to our outcomes that are among the best in the country. Work as part of team that includes Cancer and Blood Disorder physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nursing, social work, physical therapy, nutrition, child life, clinic assistants and researchers.
The department at Children's of Minnesota provides care for children of all ages with all types of malignancies including brain tumors, solid tumors, and leukemia; and blood disorders such as sickle cell disease, bleeding disorders, and anemia. As the largest provider of services for children with cancer and bleeding disorders in the region, theCancer and Blood Disorders program focuses on providing well-coordinated knowledge-driven clinical care. We participate in national and international research and are leaders in research on supportive care and quality of life for children with cancer and bleeding disorders.
Position Summary T his posting is for a Hematology RN Case Manager in the Children's MN Cancer & Blood Disorders Clinic. A hematology case manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily care of children with blood disorders to ensure their treatment plans run smoothly and safely. On a typical day, they review patient charts and treatment orders, coordinate appointments for transfusions, labs, and specialty visits, and monitor patients for complications or side effects. They serve as a central point of communication between providers, patients, and families, provide education on treatments and home care, arrange referrals and support services, and advocate for patient needs. Throughout the day, they document care, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, and work to ensure no aspect of the patient's medical or psychosocial care is overlooked.
* 4 year degree BSN/BAN
* Current MN RN license.
* Current BLS Certification.
* APHON Chemotherapy/biotherapy Certification obtained within 8 weeks of hire.
* CPON preferred.
* 3 years of current Pediatric Hematology Oncology experience preferred.
The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee's scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
