Cafe Manager

 

About the Role:
Feine Coffee Roasters is hiring a Cafe Manager who can run a busy neighborhood café with confidence, clarity, and consistency. This is not a clipboard position. You will be present on the floor, coaching the team, driving standards, and ensuring that every shift runs smoothly. Your mission is simple: protect quality, elevate the guest experience, and support a profitable operation.

What You Will Do:

Daily Operations:

• Manage and execute daily shift flow, including opening, closing, and checklist completion.
• Maintain beverage and food quality through training, follow-up, and recipe adherence.
• Keep equipment clean, safe, and operational. Coordinate service when needed.
• Maintain compliance with local Department of Health and food safety requirements.

Team Leadership:

• Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members.
• Schedule staff based on business needs while managing labor costs.
• Train baristas in drink preparation, workflow, and hospitality standards.
• Address performance issues directly and professionally. Hold the team accountable without drama.
• Build a culture of initiative, respect, and ownership.

Guest Experience:

• Ensure every guest receives fast, friendly, accurate service.
• Handle customer concerns with empathy and solutions, not excuses.
• Build lasting relationships with regulars and encourage the team to do the same.

Inventory and Financial Awareness:

• Order, track, and manage inventory to prevent waste and out-of-stocks.
• Work alongside leadership to monitor sales, labor, and cost of goods.
• Execute seasonal menu changes with an operational mindset that supports profitability.

What You Bring:

• Minimum 2 years of management experience in a café, coffee shop, or fast-paced hospitality environment
• Barista experience and confidence operating espresso machines, grinders, and brewers
• Strong communication and coaching skills. Comfortable giving feedback and setting boundaries
• Organized, reliable, and calm under pressure
• Familiar with Google Suite. POS and scheduling platform experience preferred

Schedule Requirements:

• Early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Hospitality runs when guests show up, not when it is convenient.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand for extended periods, move quickly during peak hours, lift up to 30 pounds, and perform repetitive movements.
